Capstone reflection

Zoom out for a second. You started by moving DOM nodes by hand and laying out pages with Flexbox. You end with a Next.js app that server-renders, streams, handles Server Actions, shows optimistic updates, tests itself with Vitest and Playwright, runs in Docker, and updates live over websockets. Every layer of the modern frontend, built from first principles.

The shape you built is the shape every modern frontend team assumes you can produce. Components at the edge, hooks for state, Server Components for data, Server Actions for mutations, Suspense for loading, optimistic updates for feedback, error boundaries for resilience, tests at every layer, Docker for deployment. Nothing extra, nothing missing.

This course is portfolio material if you treat it like one. Push your version to GitHub with a README that walks the reader through each phase. Link it on your resume. When a senior engineer asks you to show them a frontend you have built end to end, this is that project.
